Driving Day 1 Adventures

Today Week 1 of Oklahoma began. We left the church around 8 am after Rev. Jeff sent us off with a prayer. We knew it was going to be a long 10 hours ahead of us, but the church was finally leaving the building. Bob, Doug, Doreen, Laura, and I are the team riding down. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Steak N' Shake in Dayton and filled up the van with gas that only costed $1.94. Weather got a little sketchy around Indianapolis, but Doug the bus driver pushed on. The trip was pretty smooth besides the weather at the end. Luckily, the drive is a great team bonding experience. The true question is though, how do you exactly kill 10 hours in a 15 passenger van? The answer..... lots of talking. By the end of the trip we will all be able to tell each others life journeys. The bus is full of nonstop giggles brought on by our jokers Bob and Doug. Finally, we arrived at roughly 6:30. Fortunately, we all gained an hour since we are now in the central time zone. St. Louis was quite foggy, but the arch was still cool to see. The group enjoyed a nice dinner at the local place called Fenton's Bar and Grill. And of course, no meal is complete without dessert so we had no choice, but to also make a stop at the Krispy Kreme. There we became the local tourists and watched the doughnuts be made from beginning to end. It was hilarious. Praying for good weather this week and especially tomorrow for our drive. I plan on posting at least once a day so stay tuned for many more adventures from this week. Hope everyone has a great week at home.

Sincerely,

Andrea Grada
